Free School Meals and Pupil Premium Funding

What is the funding for?

The Pupil Premium funding is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for free school meals (FSM) in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months.

Pupil Premium funding is received in addition to the school's delegated budget. Not all children receiving Free Schools Meals will be in receipt of Pupil Premium intervention at any one time, however through our school's assessment and tracking procedures we will continue to monitor their progress.

For 2024-25, Glebe is using the Pupil Premium funding to address the following aims:

Aim 1:

At Glebe Primary School, the Pupil Premium funding will be spent in such a way to combat the historical statistical data in the school whereby our most vulnerable pupils achieve less well in statutory testing.

Aim 2:

We shall be using the Pupil Premium to improve both outcomes and progress at the end of Key Stages and work towards closing the attainment gaps.

Aim 3:

We aim towards combating the marginalisation of the curriculum for our most marginalised pupils. We strive towards building curriculum equity, reviewing our intervention package and tailoring provision to the needs of the individual learner, rather than a label.

Aim 4:

This year, we are also closely focusing on our nurture provision and ensuring emotional barriers to learning are overcome and helping to bridge the learning gaps created as a result of COVID-19.

As a school we work on these principles of intent:

Free School Meals verses Universal Meal Entitlement for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
