School Clubs

Here at Glebe Primary School, we provide a range of clubs that run at different times throughout the year.

Some of our clubs are run by our own dedicated members of staff who have a particular interest or expertise in a club. Other clubs however are organised and run by outside agencies.

Expectations when joining a school club

Behaviour: We expect the same high standards of behaviour in all our clubs as we do within our classrooms.
Attendance: We expect pupils to commit to a club they have joined. If a pupil is unable to attend or wishes to withdraw from a club, we would expect the teacher running the club to be notified. Please be mindful that there is usually a waiting list for each club.

All clubs run from 3pm to 4pm, unless otherwise stated. Collection from clubs is from the school Office area.

MONDAYS

Russell Martin Academy – Football - Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 & Year 6

Library Time - Year 3 & Year 4

With Mrs Burt, children have the time and space to relax and read in the library, individually and together and enjoy a love of books! Cost £6.00 for entire half term.

Club timings: 3pm - 3.30pm

Forest School - Year 1 & Year 2

If you enjoy the outdoor and nature, this is the club for you. Cost is £25 for Autumn 2 half term with Bodh.

TUESDAYS

Keyboard/Piano lessons with Mr Barbieri

These lessons are held within the school day. Lessons are 30 minutes in the music room. To registger your interest and sign up for piano lessons, please email westsussexmusic.co.uk or Tel: 01403 286330.

Netball - Year 5 & Year 6

Run by Mrs Jones: Free club for anyone wanting to learn and develop their netball skills, involves running, shooting and team work. PE kit required.

Boys Football Year 5 & Year 6

Run by Mr Dempster: Free club played on Glebe school grounds for training. Football kit and boots required.

Young Voices Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6

Run by Mrs Hearn and Miss Bradbury: Runs in the Autumn terms and into February ahead of the Young Voices performance at the O2, mid February.

Club timings: 3pm - 3.45pm

WEDNESDAYS

Library Time - Year 5 & Year 6

Run by Mr McRae: on Glebe school grounds for training. Football boots required.

Run by Miss DaSilva: Children can get creative in this club. Club costs fro Autumn term 2 is £12.00.

Forest School - Year 3 & Year 4

Guitar Lessons with Mr Bridle - Year 1 - Year 6

These lessons are held within the school day. Small group lessons are 30 minutes in the music room and are for any children who would like to learn the acoustic guitar in a fun, relaxed way. Songs are pop, rock, indie, blues and classical so there is something for everyone.

FRIDAYS

Rock Steady

These lessons are during the school day and are for any child who wants to be in a "rock and pop" band! Towards the end of each term, children perform an assembly to parents.

SAMA Kids Karate

Friday's 3.15pm - 4.15pm for Years Reception to Year 6. Each lessson is £6.00 to drop in. Please visit https://samakarateandkickboxing.co.uk/ for more information and to register your child for this club.

PLEASE REMEMBER - There are limited spaces for all clubs and therefore we will contact you if your child has secured a place with a school run club. We will always have a waiting list for clubs that are full to ensure everyone has a fair chance to attend.

PLAY - Positive Learning, Active Youth

PLAY work alongside Glebe to provide on site, extended childcare before school, 7.30am - 8.30am, at Breakfast Club and after school at After School Club, 3pm - 6pm. PLAY also provide holiday clubs over the school year.

Breakfast Club Costs:

£4.50 per session for advance bookings
£5.50 per session for ad hoc arrivals

After School Club Costs:

4pm pick up: £6.00 per session for advance bookings and £7.00 per session for ad hoc
4.30pm pick up: £8.00 per session for advance bookings and £9.00 for ad hoc
6pm pick up: £12.50 per session for advance bookings and £14.00 for ad hoc. This also includes a hot meal dinner.

Each day we offer a different activity and try and incorporate dodgeball, benchball, nerf, football, basketball, hockey for example, although these are no longer on set days. There are also games, arts and running on a Thursday afternoon after school on a weekly basis. These sessions can be booked as a stand alone club at the same prices as above.
