Y5 dive into the book 'Oranges in no man's land'

I felt quite shocked that people have so little time to pack some stuff into a bag. Also you had to give your most precious possessions to cross the sea!

Last week, Year 5 experienced what it would be like if they were forced to escape their homes and country if a war broke out and it was unsafe to stay. We began our new Guided Reading book, 'Oranges in No Man's Land' with a new appreciation and knowledge of what the journey may be like for the thousands of people fleeing and seeking refuge in a new country.
Here is what we experienced:

I was shocked you wouldn't be able to take all of your favourite stuff. It made me realise people who are refugees can't do normal stuff like us.
