Glebe Primary School

Y1 school trip

It was so much fun.  I loved seeing all of the different houses!

By Lexi, Year 1 pupil

Year 1 went on their first ever school coach trip to the Weald and Downland Museum and we had an AMAZING time! (Even if it was VERY rainy!) The children got to experience and visit lots of different houses from the past and tried to imagine what it could have been like to live there. We were thinking about how our lives today are similar and different to children who lived in the past and we even thought about how the materials that they used to make their houses were different to ours. Lots of houses didn’t have glass for their windows and one even had a fire right in the middle of the floor and didn’t have a chimney! We also visited the mill to see how they made flour with a water wheel and then watched some very clever blacksmiths making metal tools. It was brilliant!
