Illustrator Laura Hughes visits Glebe!

Last Friday, Glebe Primary had a visit from the illustrator, Laura Hughes! She came to see Year 1 and her very own class 1 Hughes! We had the most amazing afternoon! We got to meet Laura, asked her questions and took part in a drawing workshop of Ernest the pig from her book ‘A Pig up my Nose’. After that, she came to spend time in 1 Hughes class, where she read her new book to us ‘The Bear Who Did’. This was when we had the most amazing news EVER…. We as a school had been mentioned in the acknowledgements in the book! After the excitement of this, we then took to pen and paper to draw the bear who did (with the guidance of Laura of course). Year 1 had an incredible afternoon, especially class 1 Hughes who are now very inspired to draw and write!
