Year 3 Visit to Ford Recycling Centre

It was not what I expected it to be - it was so much better! I liked going on the walkways around the MRF, even though it was really noisy!

By Tommy E, Year 3 pupil

Year 3's topic title "What a Load of Rubbish" was very apt on our recent trip to Ford Materials Recycling Facility! The children had a close encounter with sorting on a grand scale as they toured the machinery which deals with the contents of our recycling boxes. The children were fascinated by the clever methods used to sort out the different materials and learnt about some common mistakes that people make when putting things in their recycling bins at home. It was especially lovely to see a familiar face as a former Glebie, Jo Norman, led the activities for the morning! All of us felt we learned something new that we could share with our families back at home  it was such an information-packed trip!
