Year 5 take a flight on EasyGlebe Airlines

“ Now, I know some beautiful places in Europe that I must go and see – so, today’s trip was really useful for me!”

By Jasmine, D-H, Year 5 pupil

As a stunning start to our One World topic, the children were invited to join us in a short haul flight around Europe courtesy of EasyGlebe Airlines. The children quickly grabbed their passports and suitcases and headed straight to the departure lounge – where two extremely helpful passenger service agents were waiting to  welcome them.

Once on board and sitting comfortably, all passengers were giving safety advice by Captains Davies and Ballard, ably assisted by two very professional flight attendants before taking off. During the flight, EasyGlebe customers were treated to some refreshments (provided by Senior air-steward Lowry) as well as the opportunity to enjoy some in-flight entertainment giving details of the Top Ten places to visit in Europe. Whilst cruising at a height of 35,500 feet and the plane capably in the hands of the co-pilot, each captain was able to provide some helpful additional information regarding the continent in order to guide those on board seeking to choose a European destination to visit in the future.

After concluding a successful 45 minutes in the air, it was time to return to the home airport: Glebewick. A smooth touch-down was followed by a polite announcement by the cabin crew: “Please make sure you take all belongings with you including those from the overhead lockers. We thank you for choosing to travel EasyGlebe Airlines today and look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you and goodbye.”

Passengers leaving flight EGA 4907 were all agreed that it had been an unexpected but exciting experience.

"I never knew I was going on a flight around Europe when I woke up this morning but I really enjoyed it – especially the pain au chocolat and the orange juice!”

It seems our surprise flight for the children has indeed sparked a keen interest in Europe – which is exactly what we wanted!
