Year 5 Stunning Start

We have enjoyed diving straight into our first topic of the year - The Anglo-Saxons. The Y5 teaching team dressed up in their best Anglo-Saxon costumes they could find to make the afternoon really special for them. They learnt about the runes alphabet before trying to discover what the Anglo-Saxons’ diet was by exploring samples of Anglo-Saxon poo! The children cleverly identified from this task that they ate: barley, bread, oats, wheat, parsnips, onions, cabbage and even peas! Who knew?
