Year 5
Maths Workshop
I found that you needed to find out the quantity to make one biscuit, and then multiply everything by 16 to make sixteen biscuits. It was tricky as we had to divide fractions and give remainders as decimals.

Able Mathematicians in Year 5 were set the task of using their knowledge of ratio and proportion to alter the quantities of ingredients of a recipe to enable them to bake biscuits. After some discussion and discovery of more than one way to approach the problem, the children were then able to bake their biscuits, though the ovens and smoke alarms prevented them from being able to eat them - oops!
The maths bit was tricky, but it was worth it in the end as we got to do some cooking!
