Positive Mindset Challenge 2: Community Spirit

  • Reception Challenge: Children to create their own caring caterpillars. Use the template provided or create your own! They should think about the things they could do or say to show caring to the caterpillar or any other living thing. We would love them to share these with their class next week.
  • Year 1 Challenge: Children to create their own list of helpful things they have done at home or school for other people. How many helpful things can they do in a week?
  • Year 2 Challenge: It's all about being generous this week. On a piece of paper, draw around your hands to create an outline. On each hand draw one of your favourite things. In the fingers write what your favourite things are. Include at least two things that you are willing to share. Think about being generous with your things.
  • Year 3 Challenge: Over the next week, fill in a diary sheet of things you have done that are helpful, friendly, kind or courteous to someone in your community. This can include members of your family.
  • Year 4 Challenge: It's all about unity in Year 4. You could just complete the 'describe yourself and your friend' sheet - or even better...make your own. Spend some time getting to know someone in your class better by asking them some questions and see if you match up with some of your interests. Display this work however you wish.
  • Year 5 Challenge: Community project. Can you come up with your own idea of a community project we could setup? Discuss your ideas with your family about how this could be done. You could use the sheet provided or create your own. Be creative as you can! You never know...yours might get selected for us to complete as a school community!
  • Year 6 Challenge: Create a powerful written speech. You should think of a topic that involves the local community or wider world community. It can be something in the news , something to do with the environment or something they have always been passionate about. Write about your views and opinions on the topic.
