Author Sophy Henn visits Year 2!

It was AMAZING dressing up as Bad Nana. I want to read the book!

By Hector, Year 2 pupil

Year 2 are all named after fantastic authors and illustrators and recently we were lucky enough to have the magnificent Sophy Henn visit the children in Year 2. After a lot of excitement and anticipation from 2 Henn, Sophy Henn visited us for a fantastic assembly and workshop. All the children of Year 2 came together to learn from Sophy how she creates her wonderful books and characters. The children listened brilliantly and were eager to find out more about her books. During the assembly we learnt about her hilarious character Bad Nana, which included Hector dressing up as her! This was followed by a draw-a-long enabling all the children to draw brilliant Bad Nana portraits. After the assembly, 2 Henn were treated to a workshop in their classroom where they created a new story character with Sophy called Peanut the horse. The day ended with a book sale where a lot of books from the Bad Nana series were sold. Happy reading Year 2 and thank you to Sophy Henn for such a fun afternoon!

I loved it when she made us our own character because I like making up character with my imagination. I tweeted her and she tweeted me back!
