Glebe Primary School

2 Schwarz met Viv Schwarz!

It’s been a fantastic day – the children have learnt so much from Viv. Hearing how she develops her ideas into pictures and stories makes the books come alive for the children. We are so lucky to have these opportunities at Glebe.

By Ruth Dudding, 2 Schwarz class teacher

Class 2 Schwarz got to meet their namesake when the popular author-illustrator spent the day at Glebe. Viv read the Y2 children her new book: How to be on the Moon and led workshops for each of the Y2 classes where they drew simple shapes, then added details to create characters and story prompts.

Christopher was so inspired by the workshop, he said...

I want to be an illustrator when I grow up.

Viv commented: “A brilliant day at a lovely school – the kids were absolutely great – such funny drawings and stories”.
